Creation of the McGill Law Black Alumni Network
BLSAM is happy to announce the creation of a new initiative: the McGill Law Black Alumni Network. This network aims to create a lifelong community of alumni through increased opportunities for meaningful engagement with prospective, current and graduated Black students at the Faculty of Law. We want to encourage Black alumni to attend events, volunteer their time, and create new ways to stay connected to the McGill community through BLSAM. Our mission is to involve the greatest possible number of Alumni with this network by creating a range of panels, cocktails and fundraisers.
The network will be a student-focused initiative that aims to support the social, intellectual and professional needs of all present and future Black alumni of McGill University’s Faculty of Law. The following values will guide our work: Pride, Professionalism, Relationships, and Excellence.
It shall be our purpose to:
* Establish a lifelong relationship between its alumni, Black students and the Faculty of Law by strengthening and fostering communication
* Highlight the achievements of its Alumni to develop and support Alumni leadership
* Provide Alumni with opportunities to serve the Black McGill Law Community
* Provide the Faculty insight into the needs of the Black McGill Law Community
* Encourage a culture of philanthropy among the Alumni body
We want to thank our founding members for their support and encouragement throughout this project.
