Annaëlle Barreau
Annaëlle is a 1=2L at McGill’s faculty of law. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology from McGill University. In 2021, she was the recipient of the sociology inaugural student award for research on anti-black racism, race, equity and diversity. Having previously served as equity commissioner for the Faculty of Arts, she continues to engage in student advocacy. She currently sits on the faculty’s equity committee, is a junior online editor at the McGill Law and Health Journal and is a member of the McGill Journal Podcast 1L team. Annaëlle is particularly interested in immigration law, health policy and neurolaw.

Anne-Clara Sanon
Anne-Clara is currently a 3L student at McGill’s Faculty of Law. Before her legal studies she attended Dawson College where she graduated with distinction in their General Social Science Program. Anne-Clara is particularly interested in international human rights issues so in addition to her role within BLSAM, she is also President of Girls for Ghana McGill, a club that she started last year which has amassed over 70 members and raised close to $6,000 for girls’ education in Ghana. Moreover, she fills the role of Project Manager in the Education portfolio for McGill’s Black Student Network.

Béatrice Ruytasire
Beatrice is a 3L student with a Joint Honours Bachelor in Anthropology and Sociology from the University of Ottawa. Prior to law school, she obtained a paralegal diploma from Seneca College in Toronto, and worked as judicial support for the Ontario Court of Appeal which peaked her interest in law. She is currently on the Support Committee of the McGill Black Law Students Association and the Communications Committee of the National BLSA as well. Her interests are in public international law, administrative, and constitutional law.
